			I'm going to be bolting a 9" differential into the '88 and need some help on putting together a parts list for it's center section. 
 
Should I use a Posi-traction unit or a Mini-spool? The car will be primarily street driven but will see the dragstrip a couple times a month. Also, what brand should I look at? 
 
What brand of gears have a good track-record? Or will any of the manufacturer's be fine?  
 
What are the benefits of an aluminum case? Is it worth the extra cost? 
 
What are the benefits of an aluminum pinion support? Worth the extra cost? 
 
What pinion yoke should I go with?

 Only use the spool if its a race car or limited use car. If you drive it alot on the street go for the Auburn Pro Race Carrier
 
Gears - Strange pro series 3.90's
 
Unless you're a full race car you don't need a alum case.

 Thanks alot...i was actually considering 3.70s since I plan on running 26" slicks which will have me topping out in 4th gear around 125mph...any steeper gears and I'll have to run 28" tires which I don't know will fit.

 Whoa, NO mini spool. Not the same as a regular spool.

 You're referring to the "Detroit Tru-Trac" correct?

 I was referring to the Ford Traction-Loc LSD, but the Detroit Tru-Trac is another option.

 Go with a limited slip for street/strip use. Ford makes a good one, the F31A. How much power are you making? Any well know manufacturer should be fine if it's a street/strip car. Do not go with an aluminum case or pinion support, they are for race only. Go with a nodular iron case. Currie, Strange, and Moser all make good ones. For yokes, Currie, Strange, and Moser all make good ones. I went with the 1350. If you're looking to get a center section built, Currie custom makes them to your specs.

			depending on budget, maybe build 2 center sections? Like most of the other guys, I'd agree on the limited slip for the street. Best all around in terms of general operation, noise and wear for street use. I built the first center section for my '69 street/strip project w/ 4.30s and a spool. I just got the fab-9 housing a few weeks ago. I regret building the strip section first, but I got a deal on the parts so I couldn't help it. I haven't firmed up the plans for the street center section yet because that project was put on hold for a while but I'm def. using a posi and much more mild gearing for better street cruising properties. It depends on your primary use and budget for the rear. I have alot of 9" parts new, used, and rebuilt from some mild to hardcore, feel free to pm or post if you want any real details on the setup I'm going to be using or if you are interested in any parts.  I'm not going to be at the dragstrip enough to warrant a dragstrip-only center section, so ill stick with just a mild street center. I am definately interested in the rebuilt parts(providing they're fresh rebuilds) and new stuff. Lemme know whatcha got! I really dont want to cut corners on this car like i did with my trans am so im tryin to avoid used crap.

 The fab-9 housing I have is from Competition Engineering. The Alston Chassisworks line is incredible stuff, I wish I could afford it haha. They sent a 'new' product catalog a little while ago, I can just go page by page and gawk
