Did you ever go underneath to verify that it was the tranny mount?

I think mine busted this weekend, guess I should of replaced it when the trans and rear was done. Feels like smothing trying to break through the console when in gear and clunks when you put it in gear.
now Do I replace it with the 1le again or go poly.

Yea, get the car up on jackstands, then unbolt the trans mount from the crossmember. Then jack the trans up a little by the pan (use a small block of wood to keep from denting the pan). Then unbolt the mount from the trans, bolt in new mount, and lower trans carefully back onto the cross member. Bolt the mount back up to the crossmember, and you're good to go.

that's a stock one. Poly's are on the shelf at autozone.... just look for the GM tranny mount
edit: if you go with sock, I need you to do me (and lots of people) a HUGE favor and measure the distance, with a stock mount, from the crossmember to the tranny

They don't make a poly mount for that specific application - you have to shim it with washers when you install it.
The poly mount is the standard GM RWD trans mount that they have been using for decades.

Well I've had poly for a long long time, and the original one.... it kinda backed the bolt out on rt. 4 one night, all of a sudden I hear the bolt and washers hit the ground and my tranny started clunking around on the trans tunnel lol. Nobody has an exact height for the stocker (at least nobody whos un-lazy enough to share), so I've been trying to find otu the exact height so I can make sure it's shimmed up exactly to where it's supposed to be, and I'm pretty sure there are more people in my situation too.

Well, the rubber mount does move around some. If your shifter was loose, you would probably hear a clunk or rattle every time you shifted - wouldn't be a bad idea to pull up the boot and take a look at the bolts anyway though.
