www.performance-auto-parts.com and others by same name... bad service

As a few of you guys may already know, I am in the process of building a fully forged bottom end for my new turbo set up.

I want everyone on this board to be advised about the unfortunate supplier i purchased my rotating assembly from. I placed my order on Friday, April 20th. I spoke with the owner of the company, Damen. Along with puchasing a rotating assembly, they were to balance it as well. He informed me that it would take a week and a half to ship.

This initial delay seemed a bit on the long side but, I figured it had something to do with the balacing.

I contact them after two weeks, on a tuesday, and speak to Damen again. He tells me, It is in balancing as we speak, and it will ship out on thursday. At this point I deal with it... What ever.

I contact them the following monday, and im told that they do not have a tracking number for me because a car had hit a tranformer in the area on Friday and non of their tracking numbers were updated yet. They tell me to call back the following day. This is where i start to get suspicious.

When i call back the following day, they tell me the same exact thing they told me the week before... Its in balancing now and it will ship thursday. At this point i was calm, and told them that they told me the same exact
thing last week, and tell them I ordered this weeks ago. He insists it will go out thursday after it is balanced.

Finally i decided it might be faster if i balance it at my local machine shop, and probably more reliable concidering he is only charging 110.

So Fine, he tells me its too late to ship today becuae its too late. (it was 12:00) He promises it will ship the following day. I call to comfirm it shipped two days later. They put me on hold for about 10-15 minutes as they "locate the tracking number because they didn't have the paper work from the warehouse yet". The secretary comes

back and gives me a tracking number. The tracking number did not come back to anything... i ask them why and they give me some bull **** about "they don't know how UPS works" yada yada. I asked her point blank.. "Did my order ship Wed. like you told me or is it still in your warehouse?" She tells me, YES IT SHIPPED YESTARDAY. Clearly once the tracking number registered it says thursday 5:25. I don't care if they only put out shippments once a week or something like that... but tell me that. Don't lie to me.

On top of all this. A week after they told me they would refund me the cost of Balancing... Still no refund. i finally go on the phone with the owner, who happened to be Damen... He tells me its becuase these things don't happen in a week. Every other refund i've had is posted to my account within 1-3 days tops.

Any way... I kinda went all out on him and he kept replying with smart ass remarks like.. " ooohh really is that how it works" "Ohhh okayy if you say so"

i just want everyone to be informed that these are horrible business people. It would be one thing if i was told it were going to take a month, Fine. I was getting a good price.. so i'll deal with it. But i would have rather spend another 400 dollars and have all my parts from summit in 2 days.

Jus so everyone knows. They have numerous websites with different names selling things. This is alittle shady to me as well... Might not have ordered from them if i realized that. here are the web sites:
www.performance-auto-parts.com
www.rpmmachine.com
www.performance-engine-rebuild-kits.com
www.strokerheaven.com
www.350-crate-motors.com/

Phone number: 1-877-354-3812

Their located in Utah, I found the other sites based on their phone number and there may be more.

Contact your credit card company and stop payment. That will light a fire under them. I've done that before and I've reported people to the FTC and their state attorney general's office. Reasonable service is relative but once they out and out lie the gloves are off.

As a followup:

Parts arrived last night... ALL WRONG.

I dunno if the guy thought i wouldn't realize that the box said CAT, not SCAT... but the crank shaft is not the one i ordered.

Not only that, but i had a 5 minute conversation with the guy that i specifically wanted H-Beam rods, and they send me I Beam rods.

The pistons were right, and were shipped direct from JE.

Now i am trying to get in touch with them all day and no one seems to be in the office. Goes right to their answering machine...

not a good day. Next step is deal with the credit card company. Probly gunna have to wait till monday to see if i can get in touch with these people or not before doing so.
