How i made out at Atco on tuesday the 3rd

only got 2 runs tonight it was super busy and people kept breaking stuff, just ask JSPERFORMANCE, he was one of them lol *ouch*

as some of you may know, the syncrhos were going bad in my trans, so 2-3 shift grinded some and 3-4 was bad, but as long as i double clutched the 3-4 itd go in without noise, but wound up costing me some tenths, i would say in the neighborhood of like 2-3.

on my horribly bald et street radials, (as in the cord was starting to show)

first run of night- bottle pressure approx 975psi
sprayed in 1st-4th juice kicked in right after the 60' (what an awesome feeling that 100 wet shot is!!)

my second run, i launched at 5k and cut a 1.72 60' and was on my way to a faster time, but i forgot to double clutch it into 4th and it killed my time...

mph 94.24 ---> right after here, is where i forgot to dbl clutch to go in 4th
1000' 10.01 that = not going into 4th right away and me shouting expletives repeatedly...

im willing to bet if i made that shift, it wouldve been a 11.5-11.6 @ 120mph

Nice times. When you say you "doubled clutched" what exactly do you mean?

i put the clutch in, put it in to neutral from 3rd, and let clutch out, then put clutch in and go into 4th. aparently that helps to synchronize it better because truckers do it and i had no grinding issues. but eats up precious tenths.

yea hes actually talking about real double clutching not fast n furious double clutching...his trans is about to explode

OK, you were trying to match engine and trans rpms. I have heard this term used and people don't have a clue what it means or, why it would be done. Usually double clutching is done when downshifting a non-synchronized transmission. clutch, pull it in neutral, let out the clutch, rev the engine, clutch it again and, put it in a lower gear. In your case you were taking the rpms down to ease the load on the synchro's. Good job. When you get that fixed(soon I hope) you should lower your ET a good couple of tenths.

that was my understanding as well when i googled the term.

yea it was a mess the other night but least i got 2 in to see where i stand which is i need to hook better :{ but which car was jsperformance? i saw the monte carlo lose his rear and the 3rd gen looked like he blew his trans or bell housing?

i believe the third gen was jsperformance...and he grenaded his 9"
