Vortech or ATI
just wanted to know evryones opinion on which is better, the Vortech Supercharger or the ATI Procharger
They both cost about the same and have the same max boost so i wanted to know if any of u have experience with both which one gave better results

id listen to this man he knows his stuff.... and just from what ive read most people prefer procharger but vortech works fine.... read up in the forced induction section on ls1tech.... and talk to call 911 on this board hes away for a couple weeks but toss him a pm he has a 383 procharged setup

The procharger has it's own internal oil supply while the vortec has to have an oil line drilled into the oil pan to feed it. i forget the reason why that isn't good; i wanna say it causes a pressure loss of some kind with the oil or something like that.

it isnt as good if you dont do it properly, a proper install and the vortech will be a safer setup as you will be circulating oil in and out rather than keeping the same hot oil in there.
a lot of people mess up the installs by being stupid and taping the oil line into the oil pan without removing the pan......i cannot express how retarded that is

who the hell would do that? like i don't even know how that kinda idea would even pop into someone's head as a good one.

Last I checked thats how vortech recommends doing it. Just greasing up the tap real good so it grabs the shavings. Thats one reason I went with a powerdyne for my S-10 before procharger even had a self contained unit.
