That's because a VW Bug most certainly lacks the testicular fortitude (Read: It doesn't have the balls!) and cool factor of the fifth gen!

There won't be a T/A from what I have read. Chevy will have the Camaro and Monte Carlo as a V8 and Pontiac will have the GTO and G8. Wasn't KITT a Pontiac Banshee prototype in the last movie? Why couldn't they use another GM prototype or a Cadillac CTS or even an LS9 'vette?

The movie is just gonna be a 2 hour made for TV deal, and if it goes over well, they are talking about turning it into a series again.
The Mustang thing is just a rumor though, it hasn't been officially released.
