Not a good day.
Came home today and right before I went to leave for a family B day party I got a call from my stepmother. My grandfather died this morning. He was sleeping in the room next to my grandmother bcuz he was getting over a slight cold and she heard him tossing and turning making some noise. Next She heard a thud. My grandmother came to the room to find my grandfather face down on the floor. He was already past on.
The last time I saw him was Jan. 6th. The day before I left for training. He told me that him and I will have a bond that none of my other cuzins could have with him. He was in the Army when he was younger. I was going to stop by and see him Friday but I was too busy. I feel so bad. I feel like I failed him being that I was sent home.
Tim

I'm so sorry to hear that Tim. You haven't let him down, you went and you tried your hardest and whatever the reason you got sent home was, it doesn't matter. It's very difficult to lose a family member you're that close to. My grandmother was just put in the hospital Friday, and I've been sure to go see her every day, because you never know whats going to happen. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Thanks Melissa.
He was absolutely fine. On Friday he changed the battery ans starter in his S10 pick up. The begining of the week he fixed my Aunt's Mazda. My grandmother and him were going to be leaving for Atlantic City this morning.

So sorry to hear Tim, and I agree with Scott. Don't dwell on your current military situation, just think of all the good times you spent with your grandfather. I'm sure he was proud of you.

Damn Tim, I feel for you. Please don't think you failed; as Melissa said, you gave it your all, and your grandfather was proud of you no matter what! Remember all the good times you shared, and all the things you learned from him. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
