I need a new y-pipe... Mufflex?

ok, after having issues from day one with the QTP y-pipe... i've come to the conclusion i really do need to replace it soon. It has several leaking joints and just has horrible clearence. It is actually the reason i cannot currently run my rear lowering springs. I basically need a shop to custom make me a y pipe to give me the most clearence possible and best fit. For the most part, cost is not an issue, since i want quality.

Would mufflex be able to do this for me?

Now for the rest of the exhaust, the "catback" system... I currently have a perfectly fine magna flow setup that has less than 5k miles on it, but i'm thinking i may be better off upgrading to a 4" catback setup. Im not sure what the claimed "limits" of hp my current single 3.5"(or 3", i dunno) catback can support but i have a feeling i am pushing it shortly. motor like most know is a cammed and full bolt-on LS6 with a out of the box hp of 405. By the end of summer, it'll also be forced induction. So hp will be a tiny bit more, so im feeling a 4" will be a smart choice... advice?

i see said the blind man to the deaf man.....

so i should now beat mufflex with the crap pile of metal piping hanging under my car....

F mufflex.... and their 4" stuff

in that case....i think ill end up getting piping and cutting up the current one and custom making one that actually fits... and ill run the magnaflow until i decide to make true duals... maybe ill do a true dual setup this summer....

mufflex makes qtps off of a template from qtp, a qtp y isnt a mufflex y

Just take your car to mufflex, they will make a custom y-pipe that is fit directly to your car. And they can stick a 4" system on there at the same time.

Denny and Anthony do excellent work. I wouldn't hesitate to take my car there and have taken my cars there in the past with great results. I have my lowering springs in now and have zero clearance issues with LT's and a mufflex Y pipe. Tell them what you have, what you need and let them have at it.

ok, then ill have them do it,

but what about a 4" catback? yes? and what muffler? i heard spintech dont flow as good as many think... i heard that a dynomax muffler flows real good. better than flowmaster or spintech. i'll run a race muffler, im not concerned about noise.

If the problem is leaks why not just take the car to mufflex and have then fix what you have? Dennis can probably just cut and reweld it to fit better.

As far as the 4", I have it and love it. If you race it E-town the 4"flowmaster will not meet the noise restriction, I don't know if the Dynotech will or don't pass?

1) Build it
2) Race it
3) Break it
4) Repeat!!!

If cost is not an issue and you want the ultimate in clearance you may want to have mufflex make your Y using oval tubing.
