				Weird GTA

So me n username were cruisin around Jersey City the other day when we passed a shop that had this on the side of the building:
I have never seen any 3rd gen with that hatch. I thought they all had just a regular ol hatch. Is that some limited prodution thing or somethin? Its an 88. Seems to be loaded pretty good too. Power seats steering wheel mounted controls has a tpi but dont know if its a 305 or 350 posi rear and some other stuff. So whats the deal with that hatch?

ahh. i never seen or heard of that. only the GTA came with a notch? it is a 305 tpi username copied the vin lol. its in pretty decent condition. the rear bump[er was the only bad spot for the most part. paint seemed a tad faded. the interior was in ok shape. how much would somethin like that be worth?

worth just a little more because of its rariety. maybe an extra 500-1000, depending on vehicle condition. some people think they make the car. i think they are ugly. personal preference, i guess.

the kits are slightly different. i want an OEM one only. the rear seats are special too, i believe the same as the '89 turbo TA rear seats.

Original GM one too. Along with a repro hawks style one. I don't think my friend wants to sell though. I'll ask.

I think 88 was the only year they came out right? Like 700+ were produced?

Don't the original notchback hatches have some kind of ridge on them? Like MR2s? I've seen a mess of different hatches over the years, and only recently did I learn that it wasn't normal.
I dunno, it'd be nice to own a few different hatches and just switch them whenever you wanted to go do something. The wagon-esque one is probably really useful.

The Kammbach (the top pic, wagon) is a crime against humanity. They have one for each generation, 2nd - 4th. Yuck!
The notchback was novel, and also elicited a love / hate reaction from crowds. I read there were only 718 made, though Chris posted 626 above so not sure. For me the notchback has grown on me, however I'd still rather have a normal hatch back with aero wing.

That Kammback was a crime and should have been blown up upon exiting the garage. I could never fathem why such a vehicle was built or even exists still.
