little problem

i go to take off my rocker arms while doing a valve spring swap and i notice 1 of the clips holding the rocker arms together was missing and the only thing keeping it on was the bolt ill post up some pics.o and the same thing happened on the other side. so now my question is do i replace them with 2 more stock ones or do i upgrade. i found a set of yella terra ones on sale on ls1 tech. so what u guys think i should do?

I would be more worried about where the missing clips are.....

Well, I can't say I know exactly what parts your talking about, but if they came off and didn't exit the motor, you might be in some real trouble when you get her buttoned back up.

You mean one of the clips holding the bearings in? Did you lose any of the needle bearings, or did they all stay in the rocker?

Foreign metal particles inside the motor can destroy it in pretty short order.

the only thing missing was the clips one on the drivers side on the last rocker and one on the passenger side on the first

Well I still don't know what the clip is....don't have much experience with dismantling LS1s.

But if you took the valve cover off, and pieces were missing, then chances are it's inside the motor somewhere.

Get a complete set of new rockers, harland sharp, scorpion anyting but the failure prone stockers. Get the clips out of you can, if not you are rolling the dice.
