Hmmm, not bad at all.

Edmunds - 13.2 @ 107
MT - 13.1 @ 108.3
C&D - 13.3 @ 108

Figuring in crappy magazine editor drivers..... we will have 12's stock. Not bad for a one wheel wonder weighing in at 4100+ lbs and 3:06 gears

I still think it looks way better than the camaro. The camaro hasn't impressed me one bit yet, sorry guys.

High 12's with 425hp.
Tech I work with has a 2002 Trans Am, non WS6, ran 13.08 stock on Dunlop SP5000's spinning the 60ft with a 2.1.
Please...its a 40k, 425hp, dubbed out car that can compete with a good LS1 Fbody, and a Mustang GT.
Awesome. I dont think it looks good at all. Side profile looks boring. There is no bodyline, just a blob of sheet metal. No lines, no contours, nothing. Just 3 box design over 2 tons.

Because it has a bowtie on it. Obviously.

I kinda like the new Challenger. I think the styling is superior to the Camaro even though I think the Camaro has a better drivetrain.

untill the camaro comes out and gets put on a scale, stop calling the challenger heavy.

we have already seen what a quick tune will do for the other srt cars, and the mods for the charger will probably fit so fast times wont take too long...even if the camaro has more power stock it will take a while to develop mods for it.

and i paid 40k for a 400hp dubed out car that cant hang with a ls1, did i do somthing wrong?

Ehh I really ike them both stylingwise (New camaro and challenger) but just like the GT500 was, the Challenger is just plain too heavy.

agreed. the car is very attractive though. man thats a handsome exterior but 4200lbs is not something you can get over.

mike- target weight for the camaro is 3600 iirc. there is a world of a difference between 4200 and 3600. they're all too heavy in my opinion. i'm buying a miata!

with system, 3/8 tank i was at 3500. that equates to about 3400 in stock form. about the same as a same year bmw 3 series coupe. thats too heavy. there is no reason for a sports car to weigh more than 3k pounds pre-safety changes circa 2006

Camaro will be much lighter then Challenger. I could get into the whole thing, but I can hear the eyes rolling.

You bought a truck. Apples to apples young man....
I honestly dont know what everyone sees in the Challenger. The car is masssssssive, bigger then a 4th gen. The body has no soul to it. It has a 1970s nose, and a 1970's rear. Everyone can rag on the Camaro, but it is easily by far a much better looking car. It has hips, curves, lines, and soul. The Challenger is slab sided and soul-less.
For a bunch of Fbody people, a lot of you guys really should be in Chargers/Challengers and even Magnums. Perhaps an Avenger too....

Al I was neutral up until about this point..
That's just stupid. Blind obedience is one of the worst qualities someone can have.

Its not blind, I have walked around both cars. I have seen the Challeger concept and production car. I have sat inside the production Challenger. I have done just about everything there is to do with a car parked in the Javtiz center.
Blind faith nothing, the Camaro is by far the better looking and will be a better performing car then Challenger will. Hell, the V6 will be making 300hp. Thats matching the Mustang GT, on par with the LS1 cars, and probably could scare a few RT Challengers.
My point is that people are jerking off on this Challenger when it is in fact a big ass tank. This Challenger has less to do with the old Challenger and more to do with the British Battle tank.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It is better looking to YOU, not necessarily everybody.

Take the G8 sport or whatever. I think the thing is WOLF ****ing ugly (there's your Aussie reference) and woundn't drive one if you gave it to me. Personally I think it's a terrible move to import it into the US and I think GM will take a bath. But others seem to like it, and think the opposite.

The porkiness is disturbing though. 4200 lbs is a hell of a lot- and I don't care what you say about suspension design and tire quality, that's a lot of force being thrown around during cornering.

There's no reason to even compare the Challenger and Mustang to the Camaro. The Camaro is new styling and the Challenger and Mustang are old styling. Each serves it's own purpose but this is not an apples to apples comparison. To say one car is better looking than another is strictly personal preference. The weight factor of the Challenger will create it's own issues. I think the car looks pretty good but it's not my style(or manufacturer).
