As I sit here at work melting I figured I would share my tale of misery with the rest of you. The A/C in my Z doesn't work. The drivers side window doesn't roll down. This leaves me driving from Woodstown to Princeton and back with one working window. I started coming in early so that I don't sit in that much traffic but even at 80 mph it is still hot in friggen car. Well today my friends someone decided to have some car trouble right at the on ramp to RT 1. This would not normally be a problem except that it took 1 cop car with flashing lights and a tow truck with flashing lights to assist this person. What happens when you have 1,000 morons and 12 flashing lights?...Anyone...Anyone... I will tell you what happens. A traffic jam happens because all the morons in the state have to slow down to look. This caused me to sit still for ~ 40 minutes and get cooked by my car. All cars should come with rocket launchers and plows to clear the roads. Now if you will all excuse me I am going to go and stand in the -20 freezer for awhile.

Definately the wrong time to have the AC go out on you. But you do have a choice here: fix the AC or replace the window motor. Personally I'd replace the window motor first since you may need the window down for other reasons in the future.
Bring cold water with you when you drive.
Good luck!

that's a solid tip: bring lots of fresh, cold water with you when you drive.
get your window fixed.
get your A/C fixed (they sell a kit at pep boyz to charge your system, assuming you have no leaks - if you have leaks, take it to a shop or figure out what is leaking and replace it).
chug some water.
wave as you go by the accident site.

I went to charge the system and it is full. I need to pick up a manual and see how to check the low pressure switch. To fix the window I need to glue the door skin so it is tight against the box again. During the winter the door froze and after one enthusiastic pull It separated from the door near the top. I figured it would be a summer project not realizing all the rain would kill the window motor and then the heat would try to fry me. On another note I am much happier after spending time in the freezer.

I absolutely love the ac in my charger....the reason being.....I have no ac in my house and my house was built in 1890 so the windows don't open and I have 3 poor dogs sitting home in an 85 degree kitchen.....now that sucks lol

Yeah no AC in my truck here either... It definately sucks but after working in a kitchen two summers ago when it was 100+ everyday I've kind of gotten a tolerance to it. This sunday when it was like 90* here I opened the oven and just stood infront of it spinning around. The mexicans looked at me like I was nuts. I dont know what it is some days I have a rediculous tolerance to it, others I just wanna hide in the AC.

The AC in my Jeep apparently stopped working at some point during the fall/winter/spring so I need to get that taken care of...

inside my shop it was 100 degrees. thats not cool. but my a/c works in the car. you got ttops? take them suckers off and enjoy some wind! or turn the blower on and spray yourself with a bottle of water and like a squirter. that will keep you cool but you will look a little funny at work.

What year is your car? If its a 4th gen and the window motor is the one I'm thinking of they are easy to fix. I have about 15 of them in my tool box that I replaced then took apart and fixed. The shop I work at can't guarantee them if I fix them so we usually just sell new ones with the Gm 12-12,000 parts warranty. If its a third gen, I have the old one out of my driver door If you need it. It worked fine but was a little slow at times.
