		| # Hobart Welders (Troy, OH): all Hobart MIG and stick welders are made in Ohio. (Hobart is owned by Illinois Tool Works). Available from NorthernTool.com | i'm still looking to pick up a hobart welder. they have a good unit that can be switched between 110 and 220 (with a corresponding difference in power, i would think) for right around $450.

Some of the power tools are made else where. When Kmart and Sears joined forces to suck ass, some of Kmarts sources in China and the Far East took over production of some powertools. Hand tools and other things with life time warranty are still made in the USA.

Just becuase it says its made in the USA does not mean it was made in one of the 50 states. It very easily could have been made in a territory or somewhere that the US owns.

 | I heard recently that Sears is actively looking to produce Craftsman hand tools off shore, but are having a difficult time finding an adequate steel source with comparable quality to that found here.

Most of the steel towns in the country have either gone under, or converted over to manufacturing something else.

Since they can't find material acceptable to produce over there, chances are they're not using material imported from there.

All Harley stuff says made in the USA..........it isnt just assembled you can find stamps on the brake pads and other parts that says made in china. On another note the chinese dollar is actully increasing to the point where it will be cheaper to make stuff in the USA. Alot of steel is still produced in america. I work in a machine shop we get PA steel all the time.
