Island this past week (lots of vids)

These are in chronological order from last Wed's BBQ and last night...They're of me in my truck, my friend's lifted 98 Cherokee 4.0/auto on 33's (CAI, cat, catback), 69 nova (355, cam, 3.42s) Ls1 Camaro (boltons, cutout, 315s), Alex, and Matt

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v5...and8-20001.flv Alex runnin a low 13 @ 111ish

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v5...and8-20002.flv lifted jeep running 18.2 @ 76 mph

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v5...and8-20003.flv nova runnin 13.1

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v5...and8-20004.flv bolton ls1 running 13.8

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v5...and8-20005.flv Matt doing a burnout and running a 14.8ish

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v5...and8-20008.flv me treeeing a jeep liberty (bolton ls1's sister) my 17.114 @ 79 to her 17.0 @ 80

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v5...and8-20009.flv Alex's 12.8 run vs. the bolton ls1 who ran a 15.2 or something

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v5...and8-20012.flv Nova runnin a 13.0 against a 10 second turbo fox which had traction issues

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v5...and8-20015.flv another of matt's runs

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v5...and8-20017.flv Alex spinning madly in 2nd

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v5...and8-20021.flv Nova spinning to a 13.3

Horrendous picture of jeep, me, alex, matt (cars)

From last night (me in camaro for first time, girl's 00 cherokee 4.0/auto)...We got there at 8ish and it was PACKED so we only got 3 runs in, and that was just barely...our last run was at 10:36

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v5...ummer08285.flv I ran a 15.3 @ 96, I just punched it and held on, I still spun at 80 mph, and you can hear the trans not upshifting, just bouncing off the limiter I was spinning so bad. Jeep ran a 17.4 @ 77

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v5...ummer08287.flv 2nd run....15.188 @ 93.5 for me taking it soft off the start, and backing off a bit towards 5500 rpm to upshift, but still hit the limiter and spun at 80 mph...Jeep ran a 17.4 @ 77 again

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v5...ummer08289.flv last run...15.199, aired tires down to 25 psi, backed off fcompletely for shifts again, but again it didn't help much, as I still spun at 80 mphish...Jeep ran a 17.3 @ 77 mph

Even some slick/DR guys were spinning so my guess is that there was dew on the track, or the prep wasn't optimal.

Pic of the 500 rwhp beast

No. And I don't have a video of the Jeep's 3rd run, my bad...someone broke in the other lane at like 10 pm so they decided not to clean it until after the races were done, as to not hold things up, since it was so packed.

What are you running to get 500 at rear wheels??? Through a 4L60 I assume?
Are you sure it's not your trans slipping instead of tire spin at 80??
I'm not knocking you or your car, just didn't sound like it was spinning bad in the video.I only heard a small chirp when you hit second, though it's hard to tell over the background noise.
I agree it is hard to get traction mainly on the lauch with the front driver's dragging water to the line.

I was there running high 12's with minimal tire spin at launch on ET street drags.

I was joking - people thought I had 500 rwhp, but at max I have 300...It's just an Lt1 with highflow cat, catback, CAI, tuner. Yes, I smelled burnt rubber the whole track down, my friends heard it, and I could tell by driving it. I was OK on the launch because I babied it, but once I was moving is where traction was horrendous...I hooked 10 x better on the street on the way home.

Your car was a firebird? Then I think I saw you

and Alex, I would've never guessed I even got your friendly text reminders to put it up ASAP haha

No, a 1980 camaro with crap paint and a primer 4" cowl hood.
I left at 8:40 after my last run, just too long of a line to sit for another 40minutes for one more run.Guess the track got wet after that.

Did you go last night, any better traction?
