olympic medal count
Hey didn't I have a thread about the olympics here what happened???
Anyway i looked into the 2004 summer olympics and found these results.
Rank Nation Gold Silver Bronze Total
1 United States (USA) 36 39 27 102
2 China (CHN) 32 17 14 63
2008 results
Gold Silver Bronze Total
Flag of United States 36 38 36 110
Flag of China 51 21 28 100
China gets 19 more gold medals and 14 more bronze medals upping their total count to almost 40 more then 4 years ago. Yeah nothing fishy about that statistic... Every other country stayed pretty much the same total count medal wise. I say china is a cheating bunch of sorry asses.

^^^Completely agree. I don't watch them much, but I know in gymnastics that they have girls competing when they're only 12 and you need to be 16 to compete and they're covering it up. #*$#ing cheaters. China=the FAIL.

Someone do a count taking out judged competitions (gymnastics, diving, etc). I bet it's more realistic.
I know someone did a last week, and USA had more golds than China when removing judged competitions. I don't have the time nor patience right now to do it.

well they have homefield advantage right now so it looks like they are getting away with more stuff then usual. Im not suprised they are cheating, cause China is an ******* country. This Olyimpics should of been over even before they started by taking aay the little girl cause she was "unfit" to be seen on tv cause seh wasnt cute enough. what nerve, if I was an athelete, I'd of left those games on prtest. and I couldnt believe our bike team made an apology for wearing masks, when everybody knows it has 20 of the dirtiest cities in the world. These games should of never been, but the world is too scared China would do something if we took a stand and walked away. My Fiance's country is calling themselves China Taipei, becuase they are scared China will retaliate for calling themselves Taiwan. China wants Taiwan badly, adn att his moment and time have over 700 missiles aimed at Taiwan...... **** China you bastards, we'll kick your ass at the London games

What was the medal count for the US in 1996 in Atlanta? I gotta say, we had the best stuff. Truely the peak of USA in Olypics. Michael Johnson rocked the world.
Looked it up
USA had 101 total medals: 44 gold, 32 Silver, 25 Bronze
2nd was Russia at 63 medals...man we blew them away!!!
China had 50. They have doubled medal count since 1996.
Looked up further
total metals for the US...2514
the next country is Russia with..........1204
We have 2x the number of medals compared to the second country.

I'm glad other people are noticing this as well. We were watching a lot of the gymnastics in NH and it seemed China always had a better score in comparison to USA. Even when their routines didn't look as difficult or just their overall posture throughout it and landing weren't as good. It was really annoying to watch.

I don't know the details of it, but isn't there a rule where the host country doesn't have to qualify it's athletes or something? That way there is an abundance of competing athletes from the host country and that will usually help boost their medal count.
China is still cheating though.....damn 14 y/o gymnasts.
