The wood grain needs to go but other than that...it's sharp.

Salvage titles are not something to automatically run away from. There are any number of ways to end up with a one without anything important ever happening to the car.
Theft recoveries often getsalvage titles just because enough stuff is missing, actually saw an '07 vette for sale recently with this problem. Crooks stole the WHOLE interior, dash, seats, HUD, console, everything. Car had less than 5k miles on it, not a mark on teh body, but it was being sold as a salvage title.
Specialty cars, like a real ASC vert, can take seemingly minor damage and end up with a salvage title simply because the cost of shipping the car back to the specialty builder and then paying their inflated repair rates adds up to more than the car is worth.
You can even end up with a salvage title on a car with just a bunch of bent bolt on parts like control arms, spindles, and rims.

Negative titles are more about the value of repair compared to retail than what damage has actually been done to a vehicle.

I get what you are saying regarding condition, but if you are buying it for investment purposes since it's so rare I don't think that matters.
