New Pypes Axle-Back on the G8 (Pics & Vid)
I left work a bit early today and shot down to Pypes to get their new axle-back exhaust installed on the G8. The install took roughly 10 minutes which when you look at what's being done....it shouldn't surprise anyone.
The guys at Pypes were extremely friendly and even helped me get the old mufflers in the trunk with a fresh piece of cardboard so I wouldn't dirty anything up.
On first start-up, the exhaust has a really nice and deep rumble. Off idle and accelerating the sound get more and more pronounced but is never high pitched. The entire axle-back is stainless with a real nice rolled oval tip that fits perfectly and really makes the back end of the car look nice. I liked the stock dual tips but these tips really look great.
Below are a couple pics and I stole Pypes videos from youtube on the prototype setup which is exactly the same as this one. Surprisingly both cars are orange.
I can't wait to get the rest of the exhaust done and hopefully Pypes will continue to put out more products for the G8.

Depends on what I get done on the bird before then but most likely the G8.
I got one day free for that weekend. If the weather is iffy, I'm hitting up the meet, if it's not, then I'll prob. be running the bird one last time before the season is done.

I really like the stock tips but i dont know theres something about the new tips that i really like. I think they flow with the body of the car. Sounds pretty good too. Get some interior car vids of the exhaust if you get a chance, id like to hear from the inside. I really think the G8 GT is gonna be my next car

Thanks for the compliments. When I get my vid. camera back I'll take some of my own clips. If I make the trucks I'll bring the G8.

Possibly. Might do long tubes with stock mufflers. I hear that sounds really good.

I had no idea. I will def. let you guys know if I'm around there again. Hopefully Pypes will invite me back for some more goodies.
BigDaddyKane - Yes you were right!
Featherburner - Honestly I think it depends on how you drive your car. Apparently all of the axle-backs have drone with everything else being stock. At only one point does it get a little much but otherwise I like it and the price is right over other axle-backs. I would jump all over LT's but the price is keeping me away right now. That is the biggest choke point of the exhaust I hear. Guys with LT's, intake, and a tune are throwing down 360+rwhp.
