i would bring someone with you. if you didnt realize the rocker panel was missing just from the pics then you might overlook something in person. lt1s have a nice bit of weak points.....4th gens have problems with the rears as well. fyi

make sure the coil (optispark octupus looking thing) is nice and dry and doesnt look like its been weeping from the water pump

Yea me along w/ every other person...I noticed something was wrong w/ it by the obviously glue/brown mark by where that should be but wasnt sure exactly what it was. Thanks for the heads up that 4th gens have bad rears ...i was driving and dragging them when you were still in recess .

coil is mounted on the driverside head. optispark is the distributor with a cap that the plug and coil wires attach to. coil is above the water pump. best bet is to look under the car on the front of the oil pan and crank pulley and even around the tensioner pulley for leaks coming down the timing case cover.

you are NOT missing a rocker panel. the rocker panel is the part of the body under the door. you are missing the side skirt aka ground effects. i see them all the time on ebay, or threads of cars getting parted out, or call around to some local junk yards too

You aren't being a jerk.

It is similar to someone missing a cold air intake and people telling him to buy an intake manifold. Not the same.
