And insurance points are different than state points.. They aren't reduced at the same rate

Some insurance companies will charge a surcharge up to $500 per point. The smart thing to do is go to court and I'm not only saying that because my whole family is lawyers. If your in at 630, you'll prolly be seen by the prosecuter by 730 and outta there by 830.

Unless this is wrong, after 1 year 3 points will be removed, assuming no other convictions.

If I take the online defensive driving course (which is approved by the state), I get rid of 2 right away. Then the other is gone 1 year from the date of the ticket.

Go to court and plead down. Those insurance points stick like 39 months.

i would go in and get it dropped down if i were you. Your insurance will go up alot from the points. i'd rather pay a one time fine now then a bunch of surcharges later

Well Going to court dosn't allways help lol. Not when 5 points is the matter lol. I knew that raceing on the highway was a major offense, but I didnt realize that it as 5 god damm points. It was one of thoes ghost cop cars where you can only see the POLICE letters if your looking at it a certin way. But anyway I-287 never has NJSP on it Anyway court was a waste of time for me becuase the cop had it all on his dashcam.....

Thank god I wasnt driving lol

I agree with ya. I got a ticket for running a stop sign once. I went to court, had 2 witnesses with me, even successfully pleaded my case where the judge said that he believed I stopped but... the statute I was written up for said, failure to stop or leave ample distance before entering an intersection. He found me guilty of not having ample distance before entering the intersection. I even tried to plead that if I entered the intersection and cut in front of the cop coming from the side, why didn't his statement mention him needing to slam on his brakes? Didn't matter, I had to pay the fine and absorb the 3 points. Man was I pissed! All day in court and the only people that got off were the ones that brought lawyers!

Art.
