I got a good laugh at work today
So this morning, im working off of a high reach, putting some cornerbead on the wall, and this old guy who is a taper was working off of a reach nextt to me. we got to BS'n, he asked if i was a journeyman or an apprentice, then asked if i was married, i told him no, (since im not)
and he asked "do you have a hot car?" i lol'd and said, i guess u could say that. then he asked what i had, and i told him. He goes on to tell me that he has a hot car, im like oh yeah? whatcha got? "a dodge caliber srt4" im like o cool (in my mind, im not really interested) The he goes on to say that it would beat my car. i started laughing pretty hard, and said "O really? lol whats it running in the 1/4? "13.8" he replied . i said "ah thats not too bad i guess" then he asked me, "well what do u run?" 11.96 @ 113 and also told him about this years run 12.01@ 116mph. and how im going for 11.70-11.80this year. he said "oh", and got kinda quiet for a moment. then asked "thats not stock tho is it? i told him bolt ons only, stock internals blah blah blah. and then went on to tell him how LS1 Fbodies could run high 12s stock, and how i did it with a lid and a catback. then he said, "well mine's a 4cyl" im like yeah, its also turbocharged and weighs less than my car. and how u cant compare 4bangers to 8cyls, its like apples and oranges. he didnt say much after that

i forgot i posted this thread lol. he sounded sooo proud until i told him what my car runs.. yeah i shouldve told him 14.3 and hustled him out of his money and no bonzo, that pic in the avatar is me. that old fella who is now depressed is flabby and old
