The Camaro is finally on the road
Well good news & bad news. My pontiac is still sitting being a glorified driveway ornament, but I picked up a 74 Camaro for free a few months ago and just finished ripping it apart and fixing what the kid that had it before me screwed up. All in all, the car was in pretty nice shape aside from the bolt on hood scoop they put on there(along with massive amounts of adhesive they used to keep it on there).
Took out out Sunday for the first time, and it rides REALLY nice, runs strong I'm really happy with it. Its my new obsession lol. Anyway, anyone know a good body shop around here(i live in englewood) to get it painted?
here are some before shots:
& after:

i stole the wheels that came with my monte, couldn't stand the american racing pos' that came with the camaro

i'll hand it to summit, their exhaust fit perfectly

sorry crappy cell pic

haha yup. only good thing i got from my ex bf. He got it from some lady in Bergen County, her husband was the original owner, 62k original miles. Sat for 10 years after the guy committed suicide(kinda creepy story behind the car) and she wanted to drive it to see if it made her feel better....2 days later she told him to get it out of her garage, sat at his house for a year and then I got it. Put a few months of work into it fixing all the mistakes he made when he originally worked on it for her and it runs like a champ. Worked 350 in it, new rear and the trans was rebuilt yesterday.

That is a pretty kick ass deal regardless of the reasons it came into your possession. Gotta bring it out to some local meets!
Where'd they find the car? I used to see one exactly like that semi hidden in Paramus by the corner of Paramus & West Midland when I was going to BCC a few years ago.

I'm not sure where he found the car I know it was around here so its possible that it could have been sitting in Paramus. I do know it was garage kept for most of its life.
I had it out yesterday after I picked it up from getting a new TC and the trans done. I was driving down Forest Ave in Paramus and I was proposed to by some young guy. Gotta say, I get some interesting comments in that car haha. Never a dull moment

The car was free but I dumped about 3k into it, and that was all work/parts I installed or did myself.

haha i'm not going to turn it into bumblebee. The camaro is not working today! I have no signals, no lights, absolutely nothing. Doesn't make any sense. I had her out last night and everything worked just fine. I'm getting power to the fuse block under the dash, all the fuses are fine...i checked all the connections i could get my hands on. I have to take the heater controls out so i can get to the pack for the actual light switch, but other than that I'm stumped. Now my gen lights and such that are on the dash work, but everything else is out. Even the blower motor doesnt turn on when i turn the key. any ideas?

nice cars, good luck with them, as for the power issue in your car, wiring can be a pain, since you're in bergen county i'd say id try to help you with it, but im rarely gonna be around the area for a while. What town are you from?
edit, nevermind i see you said your from englewood. i live/lived in closter and worked in the englewood/teaneck for years. Watch out for a lot of the body shops in that area, cheap but not the greatest of jobs. The only shop i ever used was in maywood but he has since gone out of business. ill talk with some of my friends around there and see where they recommend now.

Check your fusible links down by the starter. IIRC, there are two or three, and if one is burnt or broken, it could cause problems just like you're describing. Let us know what you find!

i am awful at replying on time but i found the problem about a day after i posted everything. Just some corrosion causing all sorts of issues. All the kinks are worked out now. Had her out before it started snowing :") she ran great although I do have a fuel line leak but its just process of elimination with all the little problems since she sat for 10 years. Can't wait for warmer weather

Good to hear she's up and running well again! Here's to the warmer weather, whenever it arrives. I have work lined up to do on my car as well!
