Help me decide how to spend my money
Got a couple choices....
1. Long tube headers with catted mid-pipe for the G8
Pros: Typically +38-40RWHP increase with stock mufflers.
Cons: Pretty much nix the powertrain warranty unless I find a mod-friendly dealer (yea right!)
2. New S60 rear for the Bird
Pros: Be able to launch this car properly and not fear for the 10-bolt
Cons: Can't really think of any.
I obviously don't drive the firebird much but if I was to mod the G8, it would make it that much closer to the Bird perf. wise in a straight line NA. The Bird is the weekend toy so maybe I should try to retain some instance of the powertrain warranty of the G8.
Which would you do? The prices for each are very different but if you couldn't do both this year, which would you choose?

Buy me a 383?
I say rear end for the toy. Once you cross the line with the other car, there's no turning back and then you will have two toys.

B, for the reasons listed. Racecar first.

New rear. You are gonna end up having to spend the money at some point anyway.

Go with option 2 Brian. That way I can beat up on your G8 if we ever meet up at Atco.

I would like to hear the G8 with long tubes. But the S60 is a nasty rear.

i'd love to see you deck out the g8, but i'd rather have insurance for both cars if you know what i mean
though if gm goes bankrupt and no one does the warranties or however it works, might as well get long tubes

Rear, for why you said. Wait a bit for the G8, then you can pass it off as they need to be replaced too

Hmm well looks like I am going to have to agree with most of you. The rear it will be!
Maybe if things go my way in a few more months I can still do both.
Thanks everyone!

That's a bit too far out for my 09 goals. Would love to though.
My boss is a Pontiac man...maybe I can score some kind of sponsorship.
