Computer guys, need help...

So all of a sudden I'm getting an IE error. When I click on the IE icon I get an error saying iexplore.exe is not a valid Win32 application.

I've searched and tried a bunch of things and still can't get it to work. I can't seem to uninstall IE either since Microsoft is a bunch of cockbags.

Any ideas? I've tried repairing through my XP cd but since I have SP3 installed it wants an XP w/SP3 on it. This is REALLY pissing me off...I don't use IE much but there are a few sites I need to use it for.

Thanks guys.

SP3 has some security crap in it that identifies non original versions of IE or Windows XP. Sometimes it will just blank out the screen. You might need to restore to the previous version and undo the SP or find your original license.

I can't even open IE though, this just happened out of the blue...why would SP3 start doing that now? I'm not saying you're wrong but I don't understand lol. I've had SP3 for a while now. There's no black screen I just a little error that pops up.

If you haven't tried already I would say try uninstalling IE, reboot, and then reinstalling.

Yeah, that only brings it from 7 back down to 6.

You cant fully get rid of IE i believe. Have you tried installing IE again over itself?

There's nowhere to get the full version, the only downloads from MS are for the version upgrades. I tried using the XP disc but it since it's an old disk it doesn't have any up of the service packs on it and it won't let me continue.

When you boot to the service disk you should go to install windows (I forget now exactly) and then go to repair installation. It shouldnt matter if the disk is older, that is what that option is there for

The last time I did that it threw a fit. I'll probably just reformat anyway, we'll see.

I already have it, the odd thing is the IE tab works fine even though I can't open up IE.

I still need IE for a few things....looks like a reformat is the only thing that will definitely work, I tried all the fixes I could find online...I figured I'd give a shot here since there are a few computer guys.

Also, check the shortcut to IE... do me a favor and go to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe and double click on it. See if IE loads off of that. If it does, right click on that icon and hit create shortcut and put it on the desktop.

If you want, I get off of work at 4 so I should be home around 430 and I can remote into your computer and take a quick hit at it.

Yeah it sounds like something was deleted and the path for IE was obstructed. Torrent a full version of IE and install it again.
