I bought a POS 93 Cavalier with a blown head gasket for 300 a few years ago. I replaced the head gasket and drove the car for 2 years will very little problems. The car was unbelieveable in the snow. I was very impressed. Then some old lady pulls out in front of me one day and the car was totaled.

Sorry about being un social guys. The GF and I had a big fight on the way there and that loud tap coming from my car started on the way there...then magically went away on the way home...The combination of both made me a real treat to be around...
