Looks like prices are still strong at Barrett Jackson
as the prices are as high if not higher than last year and from what I'm hearing, the quality of cars is a lot lower. Several rebodied rare cars like Yenkos, COPOs, ZL1, Yenko Deuce so they should be interesting to see the prices. The GM Heritage stuff brought stupid prices and they can't even be legally registered or driven on the road!

That's the key. They use those filters on the cameras that make everything sparkle so it looks nice and shiny. From what I'm hearing from people that are there, a lot of the cars are slapped together with visible body work. Some of the Camaros I saw go across were dressed as SS or Z28's and had 4 wheel drum brakes and still sold for high $30's on up! It appears there are different buyers that are buying what they want and don't care about originality. There's nothing wrong with that. It's a lot cheaper to buy something already done than to buy a project and have it done.

Ask him how he knows....
Yeah, i saw that 4 wheel drummed 69 with a 350 and a powerglide go for over 40k I want to say.
Some of the GM cars are registerable. The twin turbo GTO they pulled out for Woodward a few years ago was auctioned off for like 80-90k? That has a real GTO VIN...oo baby, what a way to slide it past your insurance company.

edit: I now see these were results from previous auctions that somehow got mixed in with their 2009 results so I'm not sure what the current JL8 crossram car sold for.
Hmmm, I see a 1969 Z28 JL8 RS crossram car listed as sold at Russo Steele for $198K and another one that sold for $187K. I'm not 100% sure if those are high bids that did not meet reserve or actual sold prices.

all the proceeds went to the American heart association, rick hendrick (who owns several chevy dealers and can get any gm he wants) made the 350k bid

I was wondering how those cars looked so perfect Not to say that some aren't damn near perfect but still. I saw a red 65 Vette with Stingray badges but apparently it wasn't a real Stingray, it sold for I think $65,000.
