				Future meet idea(April/May)

After reading the thread in the Lounge it seems some ppl still haven't experienced sonic. I think it'd be a cool idea to have a little cruise that stops at the lighthouse and ends at Sonic in waretown. The trip from the lighthouse to Sonic would be a nice little run and we could either take the parkway or rt. 9. I think this would be a great way to start off the Spring. Anyone else for making this an official NJFBOA monthly meet?

You could even make it a weekly meet, or biweekly. If I get to take a separate car down the shore this summer, I'm def down for this. If not, I'll see if I can bum a ride since I'd be 5 min away.

It's good to see people are interested in this. I'd really like to get enough popularity to get this to be one of the Monthly meets coming up for NJFBOA, so spread the word! This would be a great way to start off the cruising season!

Cool idea. I love the idea of cruises. I make trips in the Z to places like Carlisle and Chatterbox a few times a year, and I hit the beaches regularly. And ideas like this from club members are the best for the club.
Since the OP mentioned this as a monthly club meet idea, I figured I’d lay out our criteria and then you can all see how we might be able to this or anything else as a club monthly meet. We set up all our meets in advance, before we announce anything. We talk to the establishment to insure they can accommodate us. So that takes some legwork.

 •	All official monthly club meets must be in NJ. So the GM Nats in Carlisle are out.
 •	All official monthly club meets must be appropriate for all club members and their families. For instance a casino is out. This also eliminates late night meets.
 •	The place needs to be able to seat/serve us as a group. That is the whole idea of a club meet.
 •	It needs to have ample parking or agree to save enough spots together if parking is tight (and still leave room for other patrons). Again back to the concept of a meet. We initially plan 15-20 cars/20-30 people for monthly meets.
 •	We need to be able to hang for a while, at least 2 hours.
 •	The place cannot be too hard to get to, and should not in “bad parts of town”.

Now regarding this particular idea. The south monthly meet rotation is March, June, September, and December. Weather can be good or bad in March. June can be tough for any cruise that takes us into popular beach areas due to traffic concerns. It makes it hard to arrive on time for things. It also makes a cruise less attractive to some. Maybe a route can be planned to bypass problematic roads, but really anything around Belmar/Pt. Pleasant/Sleaside/LBI/Ocean City/Cape May/etc. is probably going to be a problem. That is why we did Circus Drive-In in October. September might be real nice for this. So maybe we could shoot for September, possibly the 19th.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for this if it can be worked out. I’m just highlighting this from a club perspective since the OP asked. There is more to it then someone saying “let’s go here”. So, if you want to go to Sonic, we need some help. And if anyone knows any other place might be a good idea, see if it meets these basic criteria and let us know.

Definitely always fun cruising out there Vin. The roads I took from 72 were nice. There will definitely be a few cruises up there this year.

IDK about monthly but I do beach/BBQ with a few friends of mine from CFMperformance.net...its usually just me/my buddies, Kristen and Firebirdkid and pumm3l(kristens husband) but we're more than open to more people. I think this year we'll have quite a few more I know 7pointoh has expressed interest and MsBitch may show. Theres also a day being planed for an atco track rental, and a few other NJ meets with them. almost always on saturday, we usually do a picture shoot...lotta fun

Sonic is usually good about car hangouts or club meets. Well at least the sonics in virginia Beach are. We usually just parked the cars up in the back out of the way of everyone and ate in the outside dinning area. Also I am in TTAC which is tidewater trans am club ( Virginia beach) and we have monthly meetings at a Pontiac dealership and then cruise as a club to a resturant to eat lunch. It is fun and we get good perks at the dealership like Discounts on parts, and we are able to use there Lifts one day a month. We intern provide them with a reason for people to stop in there dealership. But thats if you all want a official club type thing or not. I am game no matter what!!

Feather-light suspension, Konis just couldn't hold. I'm so glad I took a look inside your showroom doors.
