If it is destiny or free will is immaterial really. Even if there is some sort of higher power that knows what is gonna happen we don't get to learn the ending or moral of the story until we get there. In the mean time, make the most of it.

none of this really matters because we're all stored in pinkish goo on large towers and our energy is used as a power source. all of this is just a figment of your imagination.
