if i sell the Trans am..
1971 chevy nova
rebuilt 307, headers, some valve work.
new alternator, radiator, plugs and wires, rebuilt about 300 miles ago, new clutch. borg-warner trans. disk brakes.
The guy was going to make into a full blown drag car with a beefed up engine but he is deciding to sell it because he has too many cars and he wants to make his other drag car faster.
im looking into another nova because i regret selling my 69 i had, it was just a really fun and cool car and i would love to have another nova. only thing im iffy about is trying to tell where there was rust and where the owner used like bondo to fix it. looking at that fender and the door kind of makes me think...

Fenders and doors can be unbolted and replaced pretty easily. The quarters, floor, and rear frame are what I'd look at.

Thanks! I've got a fair share of work to do but this is the first project I've had with a straight body.
If you want, shoot HardcoreZ28 (Paul) a PM and ask him. There is a difference between quarter repair, a quarter skin, and a full quarter install. He can detail you better than I.

okay thanks a lot. i think with my money situation if i do get the car i would just do the skins because i know the price for the full quarter panel along is so much more. I will definitely shoot him a PM though.

What is up with that cap sticking out of the roll bar? Is it an actual roll bar or some kind of overly padded PVC replica?

it is an actual roll cage, idk what those things are though, yes 307 is weak sauce but a 307 can be turned into a 327 or another engine can be dropped in lol

Looks like caps over the ends of the door bars to me...

I would have to pull all of that foam off before I considered doing anything with the car. Anyone who is that anxious to cover up a roll bar would make me wonder what kind of effort and work was put into it, which makes me wonder what other nightmares are hiding in the car.

A cage and a 307, nice. It's got a cool sunglasses holder.
Is that a big cancer bubble on the left qtr?
What is your goal for this car? Race car? Restore?

nice find. but that interior would bother the **** out of me. EVERYTHING would get ripped out, and i would put down plain black NEW carpet, and a black light weight driver seat. also that dash would be replaced holy ****. haha i would love to find a car like that to play with.

if i get this car i would tear the interior apart and have it nice and clean with black racing seats, i hate the red and black. I would make it a street strip car, a powerful engine but not too crazy that its a pain inthe ass to drive around on the street just something to toy around with
