Anyone on here have lasik or PRK?

I had to start wearing reading glasses a few years ago for work. I guess 10 years of staring at a computer screen every day has started to take its toll. Now I find I need them to drive at night and I believe I will need a new Rx soon. I hate glasses. I am going to try contacts, However I am considering Lasik or PRK. But I dont personally know of anyone who has had the proccedure. I am looking for an honest opinion. Has anyone on here had either done?

My dad had Lasik done a few years ago. He seems happy with it, only uses his glasses for reading now.

My uncle had lasik done and he said it was one of the best things he's done. He now has perfect vision. His main concern was having to wear glasses while hunting and golfing and now he doesn't need them.

i heard that for people like me, highly active and going to a combat zone, should stay away from lasik because if i hit my head or there is an explosion near by it can actually make you lose your vision.

one of my good friends will be graduating from Optho soon and his advice to me was to wait a few more years. He says that even though the surgery is great, it is expected to get even better very soon. The fact that you will need reading glasses after a short period time and seeing glares and rings in light may be eliminated with the advanced surgery. worst comes to worst, you're at least getting the same great surgery. Keep in mind, that he hasn't even had it done yet. He has glasses...
