Anyone actually go to the car show part of Etown this weekend?

Was there yesterday with my Thunderbird since my IROC is still in storage at a friends place. Some very nice Camaro's and GTO's yesterday. Not too many other impressive cars honestly. The show gets smaller and smaller each year it seems....maybe they should take that as a sign.
Did win a trophy with the T-bird and talk to a bunch of people about potential business so all in all a productive day.

Sunday is a waste there. We were talking about this last night. But I can see why you go, with the business and all.

Yeah it's getting worse and worse each year. And I dont' know if anyone else has noticed this but I feel like the quality of cars in this area has been declining as well. Not sure it's an economic thing, people just wanting driver quality so they can enjoy them more, or the standards have just dropped, but there is a definite trend.

My dad and brother went to the Maple Grove swap meet this year and they said it was dead. Most of the big vendors packed up on Saturday, and by mid afternoon Sunday the place was a ghost town.

I thought briefly about going to E-town but it's such a PITA getting in and out that it wasn't worth it. The swap meet crap and the fact that they cook greasy food right next to the showcars is probably a big factor why people don't bother bringing nice cars. The quality of cars has been going downhill for quite a few years now. But I couldn't see wasting a nice day to deal with the hassle of E-town this weekend. How was the wind? I know it was windy out on the river and golf course so I'm guessing E-town was even worse.

Even if there was less of a turnout at maple grove this year like you said you donr get all the flea market crap and yard sale junk its all automotive stuff.

First & last time I went was 2 years ago and sat in 2 hours of traffic trying to get back to the Parkway. What I saw didn't impress me enough to go back a second time.

I went on Saturday and happened to enjoy it very much. I've only been going for a few years though so I can't say too much on the decline of quality cars but there were still some very nice vehicles there. I really cant stand the 1 hour drive on Englishtown road though. It's a four mile stretch or so between the park and route 18 and every year I spend an hour there, not to mention the equally long wait to leave, with my coolant comfortably cooking at 260 F

Theirs SO many better ways out of englishtown than the long road straight to the parkway. Try mapquest and go to rt9 or 18 then get to the parkway or go local to where ever your going.
I went this year, it was a litttle better than last year but still sucked.
O think I may check out Maple Grove next time around.

Last time I went for the swap meet/show they forced us out north, had to go east, then back south before heading back west to get home. The big block was climing in temp as well just sitting in traffic so that's one reason the quality cars won't bother showing up. They should really make an extra effort to help the show cars get out as easily as possible.

I agree I've gotten caught a few times leaving there and had the IROC heat up on me. This year it only took me about 15 minutes to get from the track out to Rt 18 so I was very happy.
