Actually you can paint the head surface and lifter valley for better oil drainback (supposedly).

I did not mean to imply that he should do it on that engine. Just that you can paint the inside of one in certain situations. And yes, it's old school

there is definitely paint in that head and you really want to use the plastic green discs for prepping gasket surfaces. i agree with polishing the lifter valley too.

that tiny bit won't hurt nothin. I used the tan disc on the machined surfaces. look at the exhaust ports

yup, I'll take some tonight. I'm going with the 15in camaro wheel until I can get a set of decent wheels on it. and yes its the same body as a GN only with the ugly steel bumpers. I'm gonna get a GN front and rear clip

Yeah I was gonna just blast my steel bumpers black. I have a 86. Where you sourcing the GN front and rear bumpers from?
Heres some reference on them still looking badass with steel bumpers.
