major suckage
my ps3 just stopped reading discs. not just one disc, every type of disc. cod froze then after that nothing.  called sony it needs to be serviced. im NOT happy. just 4 days before cod part 2.

Um my PS3 will read games but only for 45mints Sucks balls. Thats why i really need to go to PC gaming. And i almost did a deal with a guy on here before my ps3 broke. I was going to trade a working PS3 and 400 Cash for a Pc before it broke.

i bought a computer last year off camaroracer1992 for 200 bucks and its still rocking hard. awesome guy...he had a bunch of cpu stuff for sale last year, top quality stuff. talk to him.
best 200 bucks ive spent in the last 10 years.

yeah it sucks, i dont know what im gonna do. sony wants $150 to fix it but the slim is $300 and wont take a month to get here. i used to have a good gaming pc... then the pentium 4 came out.
does anyone know if i can change the drive myself?

Yes you can fix it. Its very easy if your good with that stuff. Or theres people who can fix it for $80.00

the hardest part about replacing the PS3 drive is flashing the ps3 HDD to recognize the new drive

new poll. im starting to think its worth buying the slim because i would assume that some of the hardware issues have been resolved and i heard somewhere the slim is more efficient as far as power consumption

My 1st PS3 broke right after the 90 day warrenty window. That was a 20 gig. Get a 360 and it comes with a 3 year warrenty!!

so after looking up the new slim version im sending mine back to get fixed. it is cheaper for one and the original has multicard reader which i use still, and 4 usb ports which is required for rock band... so i am sending it out this week.

Yup, which is exactly why I haven't cracked the case on mine yet....come spring though, warranty will be up.

yeah xbox gets RROD alot. at least for me. i've had it 2x now but i just call up. they send me a box with a shipping lable inside and the foam and all that stuff to ship it, if you complain you get xbox live gold for 3 months. also if you complain enough they go faster. they told me 3-6 weeks. my mom got on the phone and i got it back in 5 days

update: i got my ps3 back this week. i had mine repaired..well replaced with a refurb. the ps3 slim is lacking in comparison to the original so i decided against that.

My PS3 started working again from the 3.10 update! Now i can sell it for a'lot more! And i'v been playing it for about 2 weeks now and no freezes or mess ups.
