			exactly, LT1. I'm talking about a gen1 with HEI. you've said it yourself, opti it a very accurate spark system. HEI, ehhh not so much, at least on its own anyway. having higher compression doesn't help with high rpm detonation either. LT1s also have reverse cooling to help keep the heads cool to avoid that.
