looks like the bottom ends are pretty stout though....youd think it wouldve been a little more damage than that...you know with a block blowing itself in half and all

yep thats what they do...a stock 302 mexican block can only take about 550 at the flywheel before the mains start to split
which kind of worries me about my rebuild 
im sure the 7000rpm didnt help though
