the wrist pin was loose, I didn't want to do the bottom end on that engine while it was apart because I have a 4 bolt 010/020 block i'm going to do forged internals on. no point repairing something i'm going to replace in a month. I thought i'd be ok for a little so I took the gamble and lost. at this point i'm just gonna check the condition of the heads, cam and oil pump and start moving part over to the 4 bolt. getting a stroker kit, same cam, heads and a better distributor as I want to spin it to 6500-7000rpm. getting a 750 holley and the same single plane intake.

If you scattered a lot of metal in the motor I'd trash the cam and oil pump. Replacements are not that expensive.

+1, if your going to do it right do everything right. talk to someone that specs cams for a living about a cam to get the most out of it.
