Is there any seller protection offered on the website or a buyer beware disclaimer that protects the seller in anyway? I plan to make an honest sale, but I am not sure of what the ramifications are with selling something like a turbo system over Ebay.
As far as shipping, do I include that in the price or do I charge a separate rate?
How would I go about getting these two big boxes weighed? I mean they have some weight to them. Would I bring them down to my local UPS station and just get them weighed?
You'll have to excuse my lack of knowledge on these things. I rarely have sold things in my life and I've never used Ebay. But I've heard horror stories of people buying things of the website and getting jipped. I don't want to jip anyone. But I want to keep the money I make and not have to refund the sale or have a buyer threatening me with lawsuites because this thing ruined his car or the turbos broke after a short while.
I mean if any of you guys were buying this from me, what would you want me to tell you so that you feel like you are making a safe and smart buy from me? And I already have considered lowering the price.
I will open the boxes and make sure what turbos I have. I am assuming the turbos will have the manufacturer and model on the turbo itself, right? Otherwise, how do I distinguish the good turbos from the bad Chinese ones?
When selling this thing, do I notify the buyer that APS has stopped making parts or systems for the F-bodies or do I let them know about the turbo situation even if my turbos aren't the cheap Chinese ones?
I thank you guys already for your input. I really do appreciate it.

It sounds like your boxes are already packed. You could take them down to a UPS store to get the exact weight and measurements. Honestly, I have a doctor's scale for weighting myself and I use that and it's been pretty accurate.
Once you have the weights and dimensions, when you create your listing select UPS Ground (I assuming that is how you are shipping). For the shipping rates there will be an option that says "let eBay calculate," or something to that extent. When you create your auction it will indicate that you are shipping UPS Ground and there will be a field for the bidder to enter their zipcode to get an estimated shipping rate. It's usually pretty accurate but always be prepared that you may have to pay a little extra out of pocket for shipping. You can also offer more than one shipping option.
If this is an expensive item, I would also recommend insuring the shipment and getting deliver confirmation, which you will have to indicate during the auction if the buyer pays or if you will eat the cost.

Thanks for the info. Is there a buyer beware that protects the seller any bit at all when using ebay?
Or does anyone recommend using Craigslist to sell the turbo kit? I know ebay would attract more people from around the country whereas craigslist is more local. But my friend who knows a little about ebay mentioned that they may charge me more than Craigslist would to sell it. Any truth to that?
I just heard back from APS and they mentioned the system lists for $6K, and $800 for shipping from Australia.
So I'd like to try to at least get that much for it, being it's never been used. If I have good turbos, I may even charge more. I never got a chance to open the box yet.
Is there anything else I should know or any measures I should take before selling this thing?
Thanks for everyone's input.

craigslist doesnt charge anything its a free service and mostly the payments are in cash up close and personal. DONT TAKE A CHECK FROM ANYONE ON CRAIGSLIST....especially if its for more than what youre asking
youd have tons of luck on sites like this, ls1tech...lt1ls1.com....random f body sites

eBay offers seller protection through PayPal as long as you accept payment through PayPal. They will cover you for any transactions that are considered fraudulent at no additional cost.
eBay allows you 5 free listings a month, and then they charge you a listing fee for any additional listings based at what you set the starting bid at. Any fees that you will pay on those first 5 listings would be for things like extra pictures. I just sold a guitar on eBay and it came to only $2.04 for the listing. When the item sells, eBay and PayPal take a percentage of the final value.
You will get a lot of scam artists on Craigslist. Not saying you won't encounter one on eBay, but with Craigslist, there is no feedback or user ratings that you can go by. I always feel more confident selling through eBay.

Thanks again for the information.
I got to thinking, would there be anything wrong with posting a classified on various websites like on here, other F-body forums, and craigslist for the sake of circulation of my ad and then I just take the highest bidder or would/should I be better off just posting it on 1 website? I'd like to try my luck trying to sell it on a forum such as this first before I try ebay. But if I did do this,, should I put in the ad that the turbo system would go to the highest bidder? Like $7K or best offer for instance?

I think you should post it on the forums and on ebay, if some people feel safer to do the deal through ebay with the buyer's protection they have. Usually somebody look at your feedback for such a high dollar item and if you don't have very much feedback they will think its a scam and won't buy it from you.
If you want PM me and I could post it up on ebay and charge you the ebay fees and paypal fee associated with it since I have over 500 100% positive feedback ratings on there.
