Kinda of amazed a stock LT1 and a supercharged 351 had the same top speed.

I found the flowmaster comment funny as well lol. How much do you expect a supercharged LT1 w/ exhaust to make?

Around that mark, but I thought it was Vortech's flagship and what not... 8-9psi too... doesn't seem to impressive to me. At least lingenfleter built the motor...

Yea a stock LT1 cant handle much more....thats why nobody w/ a stock Lt1 went blower back in the day...better of w/ a good 383 and or heads/cam setup.

14.9 in the 1/4 for a stock lt1? seems slow. Also, interesting how stock Z28 went 0-60 in 6.8, stock T/A auto went 6.4

Car and Driver got a 1994 Camaro 6 speed running a 14.0 at 101 MPH in their December 1993 issue when they put it against a Mustang. Those 1/4 mile and 0-60 times are way off. The Votech Camaro ran a similar 0-60 as a stock one should.

Yea all those times were obviously way slow... My 97 A4 LT1 ran a 14.1 w/ a Flowmaster muffler, FIPK and 273's @ Etown.

I'm 99% sure all of the cars were 40/50 state legal. Different cams would have psuhed the HP far higher

the T/A was an A4... which shouldn't have made too much of a difference, but this could put the driver in question.

Well it wasnt much of a drag strip that they were timing on and there looked to be zero traction out of the hole. This is likely the problem.

Yea there was no traction lol. There were a few easy 11 second cars there and not one got close in that testing, plus it was hot. I was watching another video on youtube yesterday where motortrend tested a 98 Cobra vs. a 98 LS and the Cobra actually won in the quarter convincingly when the LS trapped 106.xx ... Now the 98 cobras a high 13 second car but around the 1/8 it would be getting yanked in the 1/4 by a 6spd LS.

I agree there are way too many inconsistencies when testing cars. There always has been a problem with different track numbers all the way back to the 60's. I was reading a Camaro history book that I have and read something interesting. When Car and Driver (or the like) would test a car, Hot Rod magazine would test the same car and consistently get better numbers. The reason was because they actually knew how to drive. I'm talking 1/2 second better times as well.
