Spectator killed at NHRA race in Phoenix

A crash in Top Fuel where the wheel studs on Antron Brown's dragster sheered off, sending him into the wall, and his left rear wheel over the wall and into the stands killed one spectator today. My prayers are with her family

It was amazing to watch the wheel/tire come off like that. It is terrible to hear, god bless her family.

Basically Antron Brown took off, got maybe 100 feet and had to pedal it. The force snapped the wheel studs propelling the wheel/tire down track. It hit Antron's dragster but bounced over and kept going on the opposite side of the spectator wall pit side. It hit a woman that was a part of a Pro Mod team. She was medivacced out in serious condition and later confirmed dead. Antron Brown hit the wall and had a somewhat small fire but is reported to be ok.

I think NHRA needs to take a look at the wheel studs in the nitro classes. This is like the fourth time this has happened in under a year.
