Suddenly sluggish

Thursday went to work car felt and drove great- thought it was the warm weather yet cool crisp air-

On way home though- Horrible, it felt so nasty and sluggish....

So I figured- the time is here....

I a week ago had to replace the Water Pump- due to the gasket leaking suddenly too- I changed new belt as well.

Today _ I did the Plugs, NGK's and MSD wires (not really what i wanted but wanted to get them to day) so I took extra time and pulled plugs- didnt look that bad, actually about normal wear.

Wires wernt to good though- heat from headers and the insides (connect to spark plug) were kinda burt out.

So I took even more time putting together the MSD's.

Air filter- not clean but not dirty- kind of out of money so will get maybe next week.

Hooked all up- and Ummmmmm WTF...

Kind of expected a better responce- its deff better the the condition of the ride home, but not really up to par-

Feels alittle sluggish actually. I am writing because the biggest differance is the exhaust sound...it is popping- ricer style on the decell...didnt do that before- unless i reall got into at high speeds or put in neutral at higher speeds....

Why is it doing that...I thought the pop was "To Rich"....
Why would i be Too Rich after new plugs and wires...
Dont think i messed the wires up, pretty ez nice good crimps? I did use lil WD40 to lub wires for boot- could that be it?
Can timing be off after replacing them?

IDK, just odd.

anythought be nice.

Sounds like you have some plugs crossed or loose boots.

I double checked the firing order, like 3-4 times. So the plugs should be right- maybe loose? I ll double check the wires again though.

I figure you heard the misfire if loose or no?

Could Pcv or CCv have anything to do with it

BLOND?

Maybe I am Blond and just dont know it... I went crazy trying to figure it out- re did the wires like twice, even pulled the plugs, only to notice a gas note... When I got gas on Thursday they put REG in- I asked for Premum....

SO I put alittle cleaner in and went to top off with Prem, instantly felt better... Did an oil change why i was at it, and double checked everything again- took for a ride...

And Boom- Much better, still something- so I guess air filter is next on the list.

But man my car is dirty- so off to the wash...

Yup, it can happen. I watch the pump guy every time. Never got a full tank but I have jumped out of the car to shut off a pump!

i always say "fill it 93" because different stations call it different things.. "premium" "supreme" sooo i stick with the octane number so it harder to missunderstand... but once they still got it wrong (in my old 3rd gen)

Me: fill it 93
gas guy: ok
Me: (few seconds later.. look over my sholder to see 89reg goin in) HEY?! I SAID 93 MAN!?
gas guy: yes yes.. 93 regular
Me: wow im never coming here again.

Go to the same gas station with a cutout open, and ask for 5 bucks of premium a few times.... they will always know that you are the guy that gets premium. Works for me at least. Never had an issue with it yet.

i got told to never come back to a gas station when i guy put regular in my car after i clearly asked for 93 and he blamed me. this was my heads/cam car and the heads were milled so it had higher compression. they filled it the rest of the way with 93 and i didnt pay for the 1/4 tank of regular. Threw some octane boost in for good measure when i left.

I tried that, figuring that numbers are one of the first things you learn in a second language in some cases. Works but not 100%

LOL,

That is so true, best is going to the station and asking for 10gallons...dudes are like,

Oh, No- We no have. You want 10 dollar- Ok...

DumbA**

LOL

that is my favorite gage to do.

Its just such a lil thing but boy did that make a differance- I for the most part go to same spot, so i dont even think to watch, but really will have too now.

I needed wires and plugs anyway, but still was lil short on the funds. LOL

OFF TOPIC:
Do you know if i can use some of the extra wire and ends off the MSD wires I have to make one for the coil (plan on getting 6A and Coil soon, anyway) ?
