Then you realized that this is the plot to the Terminator series, and that nobody really cares what happened. If I had to guess, I'd say a fuse popped.

I'm going to agree. However, I will guess that sense multiple systems failed at once, the main ground wire is to blame.

Ground wire sounds good however, i still believe his engine was stolen while he was driving.
