That should be good. I think its ironic that when its warm we'll only get waves like that maybe 5 times but once its freezing out Jenks is like that every good swell.

The reason that we get good waves in Jersey in the winter is because of the Gulf Stream bending, currents and winds its complicated but in the winter months the surf is crazy and its very easy to get good waves, if your willing to freeze your ass off for them!!!!

Have you even used a wetsuit? They really do help a lot. I used to waterski in 50ish degree water in early spring all the time with just a basic 3/4 length wetsuit on and never got cold.

There really is a night and day difference between 50* water and when you get into the 30s though. I was in last march AND diving which is the worst as far as how emerged in the water you are.

Surfing isnt suppose to be that bad sitting ontop of the board for the majority of the time your actually well out of the water.

When I go in 30ish water full submerged spear fishing like that I wear a 5mm/7mm hood, under armor, a 3mm jacket, 3mm farmer john (like overalls), 5mm gloves, and 5mm boots.

I can stay in submerged for around 1-2 hours. Surfing I could probably stay in for quite some time but since I dont surf I body board when I ride waves so its almost as bad as diving but at least your core is out of the water.

Oh yea, I know it's a big difference. I have been out a few times with the water only in the low 40s and couldn't stand to ski in it very long with just the wetsuit. Of course, when waterskiing you aren't in the water much (if you are any good), but you are still in cool air moving anywhere from 25-90ish mph, so that tends to cool you off quite a bit too.

Lol imagine your face being in the entire time. Then imagine diving 20 feet down and hitting a thermocline when the surface is 35*

Yeah I could imagine the wind whip would be just as bad as being fully submerged...
