Road Runner Sports
501 Shoppes Boulevard
North Brunswick Township, NJ 08902

Best place in Central/North NJ as far as I'm concerned. Their ShoeDog system works very well.

Have you ever tried K Swiss Tubes? Being in the military I have to run, and they have been by far the most comfortable running shoes I have ever worn.

i get all my shoes from runners high, they are in metuchen and keyport. i know its a bit out of the way for you but ive always had great service and support with them. rob and the guys will have you try on every shoe in the store befor you walk out with one, even if the first one feels right. they want to make sure you have the right shoe. if the shoe doesnt fit after a week you can go back and work things out for little or no cost. i gotten all my running shoes (8+ pairs) from them

I have. I bought my sneakers from there in 2009 at the store in Ridgewood. They don't seem to have the shoe selection equipment that other stores have, but rather the employee there just watched me walking around the store and determined I have a neutral gait and recommended me a shoe. I loved the shoe so much that I went back in a year to get a replacement (DC is really hard on shoes) and only wanted that shoe and they told me they stopped carrying it and they wouldn't order it. I ordered it off Eastbay and saved $20.

For what its worth, I need new running shoes, and will likely end up going to Road Runner Sports as Bill suggested to get fitted for a new shoe.

For what it's worth, Jake, I've been to just about every running shoe store in NJ north of 195. The Princeton Running Co, the New Balance in Hasbrouck Heights (excellent service for NB shoes), the Sneaker Factory in Millburn, and countless other regular stores trying to get the perfect shoe for someone with an uncommon foot size and gait. If you have a common size, width, and gait (and you don't pronate/supenate too much) you can have success everywhere. The thing about RR sports is that they can nail your needs exactly since they quantify it electronically. That is invaluable if you have different needs in a shoe. They are a bit more expensive than most, and their custom insoles are very expensive (something like $90?) but if you've got the bucks saved or you are a high miler I think it's 100% worth it.

Thanks, I don't want to jack the thread, but my problem is that my feet seem to swell very quickly. A few runners I have talked to all seem to agree that my shoes are inhibiting my running. Also, I was pigeon toed as a kid, and it isn't fully cured, so hopefully that will be something to consider. Thats why I'll be heading over to Road Runners to get checked out.

That's who I linked above. I know old man Timmay has bought a few pairs of shoes there, since I am a lazy bum I have no direct experience with them.
