ignition cylinder lock

im having a problem with the key/ignition in my 88 camaro... no vats or anything fancy in 88! problem is it wont unlock unless u fiddle with it and get it just right... once u get it just right it turns the rest of the way as freely as could be. think ill need to replace the cylinder or what?

Is the key pretty worn out? My dad's old '84 Silverado was like that near the end of it's life a few years ago. Key was really worn, had to wiggle it around like crazy 1/2 the time to get it to start, but once you did you could just pull the key right back out.

Yeah, sounds more key related. Try shooting some graphite into the cylinder, might help.
