Radar runs on my jet ski and drag racing
On Sunday I was riding jet skis with my little brother and we encountered the local boat races. I was playing around the course between their runs and they came over and asked if I wanted to compete in the top speed challenge, so I said hell yeah I do! Signed the waiver and ended up being 3rd fastest overall (fastest jet ski too but I was the only person competing). They want me to play with them again next week at their race in Parkertown.
Here's me playing with an 80 mph race boat. It's a 1/4 mile course and we were moving about 30-35, and both hit it when we hit the first set of buoys.

This sucker weighs 210 lbs and has a worked 25 hp outboard, did 64 mph all day long.

My motor > busa motor. Turbo lag ftl anyway. Only the true top speed guys have turbos. Any ski that actually gets used is still supercharged.
And yeahhhh they own the waters. I'm working with the club do start a jet ski class for the roundy round courses with my jet ski club

I can't imagine going that fast on the water; the most I've ever been was high 40s and that was down by LBI and I nearly shat myself then.
Looks killer and like a freaking BLAST.
Was that pull a 30-65? Or did you get it up higher than that in that short bit?
Get a GoPro and a VBox on that bitch!
Skip the concert, meet us in AC that weekend

According to the radar runs I was trapping 74 but I think it was more like 70. He was trapping 80 but I think it was more like 76ish given the same fudge factor. It was a 1/4 mile course. I was hitting the rev limiter at the end whereas he was still pulling, that's the only reason he was able to pass me at the very end.
And no way that concert is going to be epic...change your AC trip time and I'll jet ski down south again.

I wouldn't mind seeing your jet ski against a buddy's 95 eliminator boat... Blown 502 that makes something around 710 hp.

Ed?
And it'd be a good race until 65-70 and he'd blow by after that.
I have a few mods that I'm hoping to get done this winter that should push it to a legit 75 mph on GPS, not just on optimistic radar.

If he ever comes to play in the big water I'll definitely race for fun but that'll be the outcome haha. I'll rip him a new one from idle to 60something then he'll fly by me

I was wondering if you saw about the radar runs they were doing. I didn't go down last weekend, but the other club is racing at the Barnegat public docks this Sunday so I plan on heading down for that.

If I'm down South I'll be at Parkertown since they want me to be the halftime show so you should go there instead
I actually couldn't find the ECBRCNJ guys in the bay near Waretown so I wanted to explore Oyster Creek since I've never been in it and happened to find them!

Power adder vs power adder!
My 60 mph 2 stroke would surely lose. Don't remember how fast your turbo ski was but I don't feel putting mine on a trailer and drive across the state to go ride in some boring flatwater . Come over by Jen's parents house and I'll race you for free lunch though
[edit] I'm hoping to have my first round of mods in by this winter but I probably still won't beat you

I dont have a turbo.. Just a N/A 2 stroke.. Our boring flatwater is huch easier on the equipment. I wouldnt exactly call it boring though.. Many twisty shallow channels that you have to run on plane to keep from running aground gets interesting.. Geat places with zero wake to find out what your stuff really does. Barges that make 6-8 foot wake come by three times a day. We also have a few float up bars that have great food and drinks!. Best part, NO SAND or SALT!! You are welcome any time.. I have run out of people to ride with, they all complain its too hard to keep up! The only thing that makes me stop is when my back starts to lock up!!

We have shallows in Barnegat Bay too, plenty of protected marshaland and backbays (I took them for half my trip to AC a month ago). Salt isn't as big of an issue on my ski since it's closed loop. We have float up bars too, it is a vacation hotspot after all
If only you were closer! Depending on how September goes, I might be down for a ride sometime then.
