Paypal Dispute question

I put a dispute in thru paypal since I was getting the run around on some parts I purchased. The seller and I agreed on a price of $100 and $25 shipping. Well the seller finally went to ship the item today, 20 days after purchase, and found out that actual shipping is $185 and now wants more money. He said he would refund but I really dont trust him so I opened a dispute. I have all the emails, should I just send it straight to a claim with paypal? Anyone have experience with paypal disputes an claims.

a few years ago i bought a set of headers for my truck off a forum. 425 shipped was a good deal for brand new stainless 1/34 with mids. the buyer shipped them 3 times and everytime it "supposedly" got "lost" and got sent back to his house. on the third time the item was "damaged" and once again sent back to his house. he would not even reply to my pm's or anything or emails. i sent paypal all the pm's / emails / tracking numbers and a few phone calls to them later i won the dispute. but the only thing paypal did for me was put a $425 hold on his account LOL. as if he was just going to put the money back in the account for them to take and give to me

Yeah I'd go that route. A PayPal dispute is pointless, like small claims court.
