cowl panel

Not sure if this is in the correct section.

I just bought wiper arms for the LS cars for my car. They go on easy and work great, no problems there. My question is, is there a difference in the cowl panel from the LT to LS cars? I ask because when in the off position they dont seem to sit as low as the original arms. Im guessing the stop tabs are different between the 2 panels due to the difference in the arms themselves.

Its not really a big deal. I can live with them the way they are. Just if there is a difference in the 2 panels then I would prefer to switch to the LS panel.

Can anyone verify this? V? Im sure in your extensive 4th gen inventory you might have something to compare maybe?

Much appreciated.

there are some differences. i know pontiacs had rubber stoppers that push in. and from what I've seen, camaros just have the arms rest against molded in stoppers. Now if that affects how they sit in the park position, im not sure.

when operating, do the arms go too far or off the window? i can check the wiper cowls i have this weekend.

Yeah I would double check where you mounted them when the system was in park. Usually if you get it wrong it starts to hit the edge of the windshield but there is a little room.

When up they dont go off the window. They sweep the window exactly as the LT arms did. It just seams like the should sit lower when in the off position.

It may just be my imagination, but IDK. Ill take a pic tonight when I home of both arms installed to try and show you guys what Im talking bout.

Well do they have the large plastic guards that the lt blades had? They take up a good 1-2 inches of real estate.

No they dont have the plastic wind guards on it. So it def does look diff. But Im thinking the lil plastic stop tabs on the cowl might be in a diff spot

Yeah they are slightly different. The ls1 stops come out a touch further.
