plans for a new car....
After I get beat the hell out of my grandma's car, I'm going to be looking for a new car. Not "new" new, but a car to replace my soon-to-come pimpmobile. I want to hear your suggestions before I reveal what I'm thinking about getting.

for the suggestions, guys, let's keep it realistic. There's no LS1 f-body or Carrera GT in my future anytime soon.

basket case '70 1/2 camaro (still affordable)
any year '71-'74, split bumper camaro
'67-'69 firebird (still affordable)
'82 camaro with an Iron Duke (be different)
any year pace car
'87 Iroc Z (350 TPI)
'92 camaro (anything but the dreaded V6)
'02 SS camaro (borrow from friends, family, take out a loan, become a for-hire hitman)
i tend to lean toward camaros except for the first gen firebirds. anything outside of f-bodies i wouldn't even consider, unless you were to take a step up and get a 'vette.

3rd gen's are pretty cheap
2nd gen neons can go mid 15;s stock
high 14's with a bit of work and blasts through snow and rain
and CHEAP as hell to buy and insure!

86-87 Buick Grand National (or T-type)
1990 Nissan 300ZX (twin turbo if you like)
94-96 Chevy Impalla SS
Caddy STS (northstar of course)
Early 90's BMW 8-series (don't see too many of these)
92-94 Ford Taurus SHO (next on my list for a beater car)

Yeah, insurance and being able to rent a car.
My suggestion is to buy a beater, save your money, then buy whatever you want in 2-4 years, making it a project car at first, so you can get exactly what you want. Patience, grasshopper!
Go for anything first or second generation. They're rusting fast, are already worth money for the restored ones, with many of them needing to be rescued from Canada. :P
