anyone have this hid kit?

i was browsing hawks for possible projects in the future and came across these. i was just wondering if anyone has them or know someone who has them and how they worked out.

my main concern is i dont want to blind people going down the road. that has happened to me and it sucks.

HIDs in a reflector based housing intended for Halogens will cause glare. Your only good option is to go with a proper projector setup.

From a cost standpoint, my recommendation and the item in your link aren't even in the same ballpark, however you should hear it anyway:
I have one of BLS's lighting kits, and so do many of my TA friends after being able to touch, see and experience them in person. The projector and HID combo, as well as the overall fit and finish of the product in the box were 2nd to none in this category. There isn't a better alternative out there, and 2nd place isn't even close as far as Finish & Customer Support are concerned.

From a performance standpoint: I light up the road as well as, if not better, than my Cadillac does.
As far as your Blinding concern: This was never once an issue with my BLS kit. Just like you, I've been blinded by hack-jobs on the road before too, and that was a large influence on why I needed to have this product on my car.

I'd buy these things again in a heartbeat. While I can't offer any experience with the product in your link, I can only share with you my first hand experience with the Blackbird Lighting Solutiona kit. I would highly recommend anyone thinking about doing their headlights to take a look at their offerings, save up as needed, and keep an eye out for online Group Purchases... they're worth every penny.

Keep in mind there is a more budget friendly kit available which is essentially low beam projectors, mounting components and HID kit available.

Straight up those things are trash. An actual 10,000k output would be horrendous. Bls lights are so good, you can see through chicks' clothing......ONLY chicks' clothing. Yeah, that good.

those are junk, and 10,000k is BLUE, not even close to a factory or even slightly bluer output. They probably just use E-Code housings or H4s, nothing special and they'll scatter light all over the road and everywhere but where you need it.

BLS kit is unbelievable. I've had his gen 1 and now his gen 2 and am thrilled with both.

wow looks like a common consensus that these are junk lol. thanks for the heads up everyone. i looked into the bls headlights but they were a bit out of my price range from what you guys are saying they are worth every penny so i will begin to save up for them. thanks for the input everyone.

A budget kit with just the projectors, mounting is around $175. You can then buy a basic HID kit or purchase a Morimoto kit for another $150.

Your best bet is to go right to the source; Reach out to BLS, tell him what you're really after, and ask if there are any options that would suit your needs. A quick email often sheds a lot of light onto options that you may not have known were out there (pun wasn't intended, but I'm totally keeping that there )

I put my own projectors in a cheap H4666 housing, with Morimoto HID and it was only about ~$350. I have them in my 92 Bird

What projectors did you use? Curious as anything in the stock housing is a tight fit. You may also have quite a bit more room behind the housing to work with too but I haven't looked at the 3rd gen lights closely.

Matchbox's? I tried to sell you that second set of projects I bought by accident I have way less room behind than other cars since they pop up, the camaro ones have a bit more room since you could relieve the area behind in the rad support since nothing moves.

I had a hard time getting the housings apart since I couldnt find ones with poly lenses, the glass kept chipping as I pried it off the back. It isn't great looking, but since they never get seen, basically, it isn't a big deal. I just like being able to see at night when I drive. I do need to warranty my ballasts though, when it is cold they don't always want to light, I have to re-strike several times to get them to come on

Ahh yea the matchbox projectors would work. I know you were referring to the firebird but I didn't know if they have more room than the 4th gens. Probably the same.

The glass lens housings are tricky to open without cracking. Regarding the ballasts, it sounds like you have the set which were prone to cold weather firing issues. I wouldn't wait to get them covered under warranty so best to submit soon. The new ballasts they use appear to be rock solid so far.
