I believe he means that due to the low profile of the tire you will have traction issues. A 30 series sidewall is pretty short.

Well, you can either spend a ton of drag radials for the large rims, or throw a decent street tire on em and just be content with never hooking the car.

I would grab a set of stock wheels and through some et streets on the back with whatever up front. Looks decent and hooks much better than your 19's ever will. Granted you aren't going anywhere fast this time of year

Is this your DD right now? If so, I would wait until after the winter season before putting et streets on it. Not only are they dangerous in rain/snow, but they might start cracking in the cold. Never mind the weaker performance you would see from them in colder weather with salt on the roads.
17" wheels are a good medium between appearance and performance and readily available at decent prices. 19s dont leave much room for sidewall, but its not impossible to launch with large aftermarket wheels. You just need to get familiar with how to leave the line, like any combo. A decent tire will give you good immediate gains, but dont expect the car to dead hook when you floor it.
It seems you are looking for quick feedback to get instant performance on a car you've described to "need work"...My advice is to take a step back before throwing money and a mix of parts at the car to decide on your overall intentions - whether that be getting the car back to everyday driving health, street performance, street/strip, etc. Once you have the direction you want to go in, do some research on completed builds that fit your intentions. If you put some thought into the build to make the mods work together as a system, you will be much happier with the final results.

if you want to build your car correctly and to a certain "standard" that you may be looking for...such as: street/strip car, street only, track only, etc.. ,,, pm me what your looking to do with the car, time/power wise and what mods you have now, and I can guide you through what you should, & shouldn't do. I've been doing this for almost 20yrs,been hardcore Ls nuthugger/wrenching since 97, so I have some knowledge under my belt.
