The stock elbow does hurt airflow and performance, but it's not a big number. Since yours was ripped, it was worth it to get the aluminum one instead of the 1LE piece. As for the 58mm TB, it's really not any benefit until you are making in the 500 hp range so don't worry about that. Your setup looks fine, it just needs a supercharger and that elbow will be worth even more!

i understand what you are saying. it just seems funny that you don't want an ss hood so you are getting an ss hood, thats bigger. i think the ss hoods look like ass on lt1's. i think i'll eventually do a cowl.

not so bad on a 98+ but on a 93-97....thats just retarded, "hmmmm I hate SS hoods so let me get the BIGGEST one I can find" thats kinda claiming your 13s V6 pulls amazing wheel stands, or your stock 3rd gen runs 13s cause your raced this guy and his car runs 13s, or running around with no rear breaks for a few months( HA I knew one of you would so )

Unless your car has a jet engine or is a 10 second beast there is absolutely no need for a 3" SS Hood. Its down right gaudy on a street car.
Personally, I think the 96-97 SLP/HO SS hood are one of the sleakest looking hoods for 93-97 Cars. They may be "played" out but they work and you can't argue with what looks good.
